CTW is closed for Eid
on Thursday 19th & Friday 20th March 2026
CTW will be additionally closed on Thursday 19th & Friday 20th March 2026
As you will be aware, half of our teaching team observe Ramadan and this is something we fully embrace. For example, we rearrange timings throughout the Holy month to enable the team to pray, reflect and observe Ramadan in their own individual way, whilst maintaining their important role to your children.
For the past two years, we have enabled the team observing Eid to have holiday to celebrate this important religious event with their families. We've sought your help, where possible, to keep your child at home over Eid so as to elevate the pressure on maintaining sufficient staff to child ratios. However, this year we found less families volunteered to keep their children at home.
CTW is now at full capacity with children and we feel we can't safely operate CTW sufficiently with half the team not in; it's simply not fair to your children or the remaining teaching team.
In recognition of our current teaching team demographic and the overall care of your children, we have decided to additionally close CTW for the two days over Eid. The days change each year and, therefore, children who attend on those days will be reimbursed pro-rata for that month's invoice.
We recognise for some families this may be an inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your support of our dedicated teaching team.
Next week marks our annual World Book Day festival, which is always one of our favourite celebrations. Story telling, role play, make believe and reading forms a large part of your child's day-to-day provision at CTW as it particularly supports creativity, language development and understanding of the world around them.
Please remember to ensure:
the choice of costume allows your child to use the toilet where they are already toilet trained or are training to independently undress;
usual outdoor shoes and outdoor coats are worn;
label your child's clothes.
This year, we would like to invite your children to wear a piece of clothing (or an entire outfit!) that is RED in recognition of Red Nose Day.
Congratulations to Umma who has been appointed CTW Deputy Manager alongside Carol who also remains as Deputy Manager. The growing leadership capacity is in recognition of our consistent focus on improving the development of children's learning and supporting the teaching team.
We will soon say "goodbye" to Arpik who leaves us at the end of March to focus on a dependant family member. We thank Arpik for her contribution to CTW and wish her all the best for the future.
Welcome to Emily who started with us in January, who is an experienced Level 3 practitioner and will be taking over as key person for the children Arpik currently supports.
The month of Ramadan began last week
We would like to take this opportunity of acknowledging our CTW team members and families as they embark on their individual observance through the holy month and wish them 'Ramadan Mubarak'.
One of Islam's major pillars is zakat, or giving alms, through which Muslims show support within communities. As such, CTW will be collecting non-perishable items to contribute to the local Food Bank.
We would like to encourage you to denote an item each week throughout March please.
When the weather is torrential rain and wind (or snow), standing in the playground waiting for your child to complete their CTW routine of independently putting on shoes and coat isn't ideal!
If you would like to, please feel free to ring us (020 8995 7267) when you’re 5 minutes away from CTW and we will begin to get your child ready for collection.
Please ensure your children's clothes are labelled with their name to aide jumpers & cardigans returning to them at the end of the day. Please remember to label hats, gloves and shoes too!
A reminder that your children must have an appropriate outdoor coat (not all in one type suits) and appropriate footwear that can independently put on and taken off (with teacher support).

London has seen an outbreak of measles and there have been four known cases in Hounslow (to date).
The first symptoms of measles include: high temperature, rash, runny or blocked nose, sneezing, cough and red, watery eyes. If you or your child has a rash and you suspect it's measles, contact your GP and stay away from work, nursery or school for at least four days from when the rash first appears.
The best way to prevent the spreading of measles is to take the MMR vaccine. Please consider getting your child vaccinated to keep all children safe.
It's also never too late to catch up with your MMR vaccination, so if you missed it as a child please contact your GP to arrange an appointment.
